Sargis Khandanyan receives Ambassador of Brazil in our country

On June 20, the Chair of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly Sargis Khandanyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brazil to the Republic of Armenia Fabio Vaz Pitaluga.

Welcoming the guest, Sargis Khandanyan emphasized the development of the Armenian-Brazilian inter-parliamentary relations. The Committee Chair underlined that despite the distance between the two countries, there is a great potential for cooperation in a number of fields: education, tourism, trade, economy, and security.

At the guest’s request, Sargis Khandanyan presented the current security situation in our country, talked about Armenia’s efforts to normalize the relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

The Committee Chair also referred to the programmes implemented by the RA Government in the direction of ensuring the needs of the people forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh, highlighting the support of the international partners in this matter. Sargis Khandanyan informed the Ambassador that the Government has recently approved the state support programme for providing housing for the displaced families.

The interlocutors also discussed issues regarding the bilateral cooperation.
