Ambassador of China in the National Assembly

On June 26 Mr. Tigran Torosyan, President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia received Mr. Hong Jiuyin, the newly appointed Ambassador of People’s Republic of China to Armenia.

Mr. Hong Jiuyin conveyed congratulations and best wishes to the President of the National Assembly of Wu Bangguo, Chairman of the National People's Congress (NPC) of the People’s Republic of China, in connection with being re-elected in the post, noting that his work in that important and responsible post will be for the welfare of the state and the people. The Ambassador reconfirmed the invitation of the official visit to the People's Republic of China that did not take place last year due to technical reasons, noting that the visit will greatly promote the development of friendship between the two countries. Being in Armenia for the first time, the Ambassador has already had time to receive some information for two weeks and is greatly impressed by the economic growth and construction rates of Armenia. He emphasized, that his country gives a great importance to the comprehensive development of the relations with Armenia in all spheres and assured, that his future mission will be to promote the development of the Chinese Armenian relations as far as it is possible. The Ambassador highlighted the stable position of Armenia on the issue of Taiwan. Touching upon the inter-parliamentary relations, Mr. Jiuyin emphasized their important role in the inter-state relations and assured that the issues of development of inter-parliamentary relations will be in the center of his attention.

Mr. Tigran Torosyan, President of the National Assembly, expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador for congratulations and best wishes and noted, that the terms of the official visit that did not take place due to technical reasons will be specified in diplomatic way. Emphasizing the importance of the further development of the Armenian Chinese relations, the President of the National Assembly noted that the inter-parliamentary realtions had always been at a high level and expressed confidence that the traditions of friendship and cooperation will be continued. In his estimation the Armenian-Chinese relations have a great potential of development, which should be used by all means, and it will be mutually advantageous for the two countries. In connection with the Taiwan issue Mr. Torosyan noted, that Armenia always has a stable position as by its own experience knows what it means to divide the same people into two parts. He expressed readiness to support the newly appointed Ambassador in the implementation of his mission and asked to convey kind wishes to Wu Bangguo, Chairman of the National People's Congress of the People’s Republic of China.
