On December 5, the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs of the National Assembly, headed by Mr. Vardan Ayvazyan, held an expanded session to debate the Government initiated package, amending the tax laws. The executive body proposed to Make Amendments and Addenda to the Laws on Value Added Tax, on Taxes, Obligatory Payments of Social Security, on Income Tax, on Property Tax, on Profit Tax, on Fixed Payments, as well as to adopt a Law on Patent Payments.

Summing up the debates, lasting for several days on the package, Mr. Vardan Ayvazyan, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs of the National Assembly, said that the Government presented the Parliament a re-worded version, taking into consideration their concerns and proposals.

At the end of the debate the deputies expressed hope that the executive body will take into consideration their wishes, while developing the last version.
