From the 16th to the 27th of August, Armenian parliament officials participated in the course on the theme “Organization of Legal Mechanism” organized by the National Center for Judicial Studies and the Egyptian Fund for Technical Cooperation with the Commonwealth States. It was held in the National Center for Judicial Studies of Egypt. Above-mentioned center has organized 200 courses of the similar type for Armenian personnel trainings in 1993, and 950 courses for CIS countries. A two-week training course was delivered by the representatives of legislative and executive powers of Egypt, members of the Constitutional Court, Professors of the University of Cairo and leading specialists of the National Center for Judicial Studies. The spheres and topics under study were various and of different character starting from the discussions of human rights' defense issues to the application of legislation improvement mechanism.
Armenian Parliament officials visited the Egyptian Parliament where they got acquainted with the history of the Egyptian Parliament and peculiarities of the legislative work. The Armenian parliamentary group has also been to the Library of Alexandria, Egyptian Museum, the Church of St. Gregory the Illuminator in Cairo and in other historical and cultural places. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Arab Republic of Egypt Mr. Armen Melkonian heartily welcomed the group in the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Egypt (residence in Cairo).
On August 27 the closing solemn ceremony of the training course was held. The Deputy Director of the Egyptian Fund for Technical Cooperation with the Commonwealth States Mr. Walid Shams handed certificates to the Armenian Parliament officials who participated in the training courses.
