On February 1, under the sounds of the anthem of the Republic of Armenia the opening ceremony of the seventh session of the fourth convocation of the National Assembly took place.

NA Speaker Mr. Hovik Abrahamyan said that from now on within the framework of the policy of Open Doors of the National Assembly with the participation of the students of the schools of different marzes will take place an open lesson, then he welcomed the students, who were participating in the first open lesson in the session hall of the National Assembly.

Later the NA deputies discussed and approved by voting the draft agendas of the seventh sessiona and four-day sittings and reaffirmed the composition of the Ad-hoc Counting Committee functioning in the 6^th session of the National Assembly.

The National Assembly debated the Framework Financing Agreement between the Republic of Armenia and Asian Development Bank signed on September 15, 2009 (North-South Road Corridor Investment Program), which presented RA Minister of Economy Mr. Nerses Yeritsyan.

The head committees endorsed their views on the agreement.

In their speeches the NA deputies highly assessed in the political and economic aspects the construction of the North-South Road, but some deputies expressed their concern about the purposeful and effective expenditure of credit means and proposed to apply control mechanisms.

In his concluding speech RA Minister of Economy Mr. Nerses Yeritsyan touched upon the NA deputies’ concerns and the proposals emanating from them.

RA Minister of Diaspora Mrs. Hranush Hakobyan, presenting the draft law on Making Addendum to RA law On State Register of the Population, said that there were a great number of foreign citizens of Armenian origin, who wanted to acquire RA citizenship, but there were problems of those persons not being registered.

The National Assembly also discussed the draft law On Making Amendments and Addenda to RA Law On Foreigners.

The National Assembly will continue the debate of the issue at February 2 sitting.
