Meeting with the Ambassador of Finland to Armenia

On April 30 the Vice Speaker of the National Assembly Arevik Petrosyan received the Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary Ambassador of Finland to the Republic of Armenia Petri Salo.

The Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Gagik Minasyan and RA Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Finland Ara Ayvazyan attended the meeting.

Greeting the guest Mrs. Petrosyan said that RA parliamentary delegation returned with big impressions from Finland, where during its visit on March 1-5 apart from gender problems, issues the inter-parliamentary and inter-state relations were discussed.

The Ambassador Petri Salo thanked for warm reception, expressing hope that Finland-Armenia Friendship Group will be soon set up in the Parliament of Finland, and the steps directed towards the inter-parliamentary cooperation will be of more active nature.

At the Ambassador’s request the Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Gagik Minasyan, who is also the head of the RA National Assembly delegation in the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Parliamentary Assembly, reported about the works being implemented in the Assembly. The sides touched upon the possibilities of cooperation between similar organization of the countries adjacent to the Baltic Sea and Black Sea Economic Cooperation Parliamentary Assembly.

In the course of the meeting issues concerning the cooperation of Finland, overcoming the financial-economic crisis and international recognition of the Armenian Genocide were also discussed.
