Music Holiday Celebrated in the National Assembly

On June 21 within the framework of the NA programme Open Doors under the high patronage of the Speaker of the National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan a classic music concert performed by the only handicapped choir of the world Paros and Konstantin Sarajyan Symphony Orchestra of the Yerevan State Conservatory took place in the National Assembly Park: the Music Holiday was celebrated. Moreover, it is celebrated in more than 110 countries and 430 cities of the world. The NA Speaker with this initiative dedicated to the Music Holiday again paid attention to the problems of the handicapped.

To recap, on May 18, in the Gafesjian Museum the NA Speaker H o vik Abrahamyan participated in the action dedicated to the International Museum Day, the aim of which was to make cultural centres available for the handicapped. The NA Speaker listened to the performances of the choir Paros: the majority of the choir members were handicapped. The Executive Director of Unison NGO Armen Alaverdyan taking the advantage asked RA NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan to help the choir Paros to get state status . The NA Speaker promised to help them and mentioned that the problems of the handicapped were always in the centre of his attention, and that many event s were organized in the National Assembly just for the handicapped.

During yesterday's open-air concert the Executive Director of Unison Armen Alaverdyan mentioned that the NA Speaker had attended their concert previous month, after which he had promised to invite them to participate in the event to be held in the NA Park. According to his words, today's concert is the evidence of the fact that the parliament head’s word becomes an action. Armen Alaverdyan expressed confidence that by the NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan's support the problem of the choir's state status would be solved too.

Yesterday wonderful pieces of Arm e nian and international music art sounded about an hour in the National Assembly Park.
