On November 9 in the NA Gilded Hall the solemn ceremony of awarding the architects and builders of the reconstructed session hall of the National Assembly was held.
By the order of RA NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan architects Narek Sargsyan, Anahit Tarkhanyan, builders Gagik Galstyan, Karen Sargsyan and designer Ruben Mnatsakanyan were awarded Medal of Honour of the National Assembly; The architect Hrachya Sargsyan, Gurgen Zakaryan, Aleksan Zakaryan, builders Eduard Revazyan, Karen Sargsyan, Andrias Aghababyan, Vaheh Vartanyan, Alexander Torosyan were awarded the letters of thanks of the Speaker of the National Assembly.
Addressing those present the Speaker of the National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan once again congratulated on the occasion of having a hall in consonant with international modern demands and especially thanked all the people, due to whose visible and invisible work the programme became work from word.
“About two weeks ago, when the official opening of the session hall took place those present had an opportunity to be convinced that the Armenian architects’ thought and builders’ hand jointly created really a high value. This is the Armenian architect’s imagination and the Armenin builder’s assiduity, combination of the modern demands and traditional approaches. As a result, the National Assembly of Armenia has a session hall complying with modern standards,” Hovik Abrahamyan noted. “I am sure that as the building of the parliament is a nice-looking sample of the Armenian architectural art from the day of its building, so the building will have its unique place in the history. Biography of every structure begins from tense work of the designers, architects and builders, and the reconstructed session hall of the National Assembly is the evident example. It was once again documented that irrespective of various difficulties, an Armenian’s hand continues to create, and the mind to be creative.” In the Speaker’s word, the builder’s work has always been one of the most respected one among us because there, where construction has begun, a new life, new ideas, new programmes have begun. “In the case of the NA session hall “In case of NA session hall too, I am sure that the new hall will become it won’t be an exclusion, and the new hall of the parliament will become an arena of forming more perfect legislative field promoting the progress of society and state. The building of the National Assembly is not only a structure. It is about a 60-year continuing history which stretches from the twentieth to the twenty-first century. The reconstructed hall of the National Assembly is also a unique present to the parliament of the third republic of the National Assembly, which became 20 years old.”
“Dear architects and builders, for several years you with tolerance, mutual respect, supporting each other and trusting did your work. I am sure that in this hall the mutual respect, tolerance and common sense will continue,” the NA Speaker noted.
Expressing their gratitude to Hovik Abrahamyan in the name of everybody for highly assessing their work, RA Chief Architect, Deputy Minister of Urban Development Narek Sargsyan noted that professional, experienced and specialists having their handwriting had been chosen. “However, if all of them in the orchestra can brilliantly perform their scores, that is not still a guarantee that the final work will be, the music will sound consonantly. From that point of view the conductor’s work is very important, and consulting with my colleagues, who are sitting here now, I would like to say in their name that the success of this work was greatly conditioned by the conductor, in this case, with every-day, rigorous and organized, why not, also creative enthusiasm of the NA Speaker to create such environment for everybody to work,” Narek Sargsyan noted. In his word, the success of the work was also conditioned by the inclining and inspiring atmosphere, which the NA Speaker and NA staff had created.
