Within the framework of the Open Doors programme of the National Assembly the students of TV-ideal specialized School-Studio of TV presenters and journalists visited the parliament. They attended the sitting of the National Assembly, then they met the NA Vice Speaker Samvel Nikoyan.
In his word the NA Vice Speaker touched upon a number of issues concerning the activity of the parliament, presented the NA electoral order, the process of the adoption of the laws and the functions of the parliament.
The students of the School-Studio addressed their questions on the problems of the deputies’ activities, international situation, bicameral parliament, freedom of media and speech to the NA Vice Speaker, and Samvel Nikoyan gave clarifications to those questions, also listening to the future journalists’ views and opinions.
After the meeting the participants of the Open Lesson had close talk with NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan. The NA Speaker highlighted the journalist’s specialty and his/her role in the formation of the public opinion, urged the students of the School-Studio to be objective and unbiased in their future working activity. In the talk with the young guests of the parliament Hovik Abrahamyan also touched upon the electoral legislation, the formation of the National Assembly, in particular, the proportional and majoritarian electoral orders.
