RA National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan Visits the Museum History of Armenia

On April 14 RA National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan accompanied by Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan visited the Museum History of Armenia. The NA Speaker got familiarized with the exposition of the excavations from the Bronze Age mausoleums of Armenia, which was opened in the Museum, the results of excavations made in the Upper Naves (B. C. 22-14 centuries) and Lower Naves (B. C. 25 –20 centuries) mausoleum fields.

As the Director of RA Culture Ministry affiliated Scientific Research Center for Historical-Cultural Heritage Hakob Simonyan informed the NA Speaker, the expedition of the Center, particularly, in Aragatsotn Marz, unearthed in the old settlement called Lower Naves adjacent to the town of Ashtarak, discovered vessels made of clay, bronze weapons and jewelry, gold, glass and items of luxury made of semi-precious stones and other objects from the royal mausoleums, which are shown in the museum. Hovik Abrahamyan proposed to organize an exposition of the discovered precious excavations in the National Assembly too, where the foreign guests and delegations visiting the parliament would have opportunity to get acquainted with oldest pages of the history of Armenia.

Director of the Museum Anelka Grigoryan presented the NA Speaker the exhibits shown in the expositions with headings Culture, Art, Religious Beliefs, From Old Stone Age to Bronze Age and Urartu, Kingdom of Van.

Hovik Abrahamyan also visited the National Gallery of Armenia, and looked at the works of Yervand Kochar and Jansem, which were shown within the framework of the temporary exhibition opened there.
