Parliament Continues the Work of the Four-Day Sittings

The National Assembly in its May 11 sitting by voting passed all the legislative initiatives, more than a dozen, which were debated on the previous day.

Within the framework of the Open Lesson the students and lecturers of the Northern University had an opportunity to attend the sitting, and the NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan addressed them in his welcoming speech.

The Justice Minister Hrayr Tovmasyan submitted to the deputies’ assessment several legislative initiatives.

The Government again put into circulation the bill on Public Service with two co-draft laws. This package has not received sufficient number of votes in the third reading, and with certain amendments it is on the agenda.

The MPs debated the law on Compulsory Military Service, the law on Notary Service and other draft laws.

The Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan proposed the deputies to pass the proposal of making addendum to the law on General Education.

At the last hour of the NA Wednesday sitting, in accordance with NA Rules of Procedure, question and answer session took place between the deputies and the government members.
