On February 1 presided over by Artak Davtyan the sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport was held, the debate of the majority of more than a dozen bills, included on the agenda was postponed by the authors’ proposal.
The bill “On Amending the RA Law on Value Added Tax” submitted by the Heritage faction deputies.
The bill was endorsed by the Committee, and it will be included in the draft law of the agenda of the NA spring session.
The bill “On Libraries and Library Work” was debated in the second reading.
The Committee endorsed the draft law “On Amending the RA Law on General Education.”
The NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs presided over by Davit Harutyunyan in the first reading debated the draft law submitted by the Government “On Amending the RA Law on Criminal Executive Service.”
Davit Harutyunyan submitted for debate the legislative package “On Amending the RA Law ‘NA Rules of Procedure’” and “On Amending the RA Public Service.”
In his concluding speech Davit Harutyunyan said that the legislative package would be amended during the period from the first to the second reading.
The draft law “On Amending the RA Law on the Order of Calculating of Time in the RA Territory” also was debated in the first reading.
The issues debated by the endorsement of the committee will be included in the agendas of the NA Spring session and the upcoming four-day sittings.
By the author’s proposal the legislative package envisaging amendments on Lustration and a number of laws adjacent to it” submitted by the deputies of the Heritage faction was also postponed up to 15 days.
The Committee debated the proposal on organizing parliamentary hearings on passing on to 100% proportional electoral system by the NA Heritage, ARF and Prosperous Armenia factions. The Committee Chairman said that the proposal had been discussed in the RPA faction, and they were also intended to organize the hearings. He noted that the issue had also been discussed with the NA Speaker. Mr Harutyunyan presented the schedule of the hearings. The parliamentary hearings will be held on February 15, at 11 a.m.
The Committee decided to continue the sitting on Friday, at 11 a.m.
