On February 2 RA National Assembly Speaker Samvel Nikoyan took part in the ceremony of perpetuating the memory of the prematurely deceased poet Petros Durian in Yerevan Komitas Pantheon. The poet’s relics (fragments of the skull) were placed in the Motherland mixed with the soil brought from the poet’s grave from the Armenian cemetery of Constantinople Skyutar quarter: the Speaker of the National Assembly placed it in the memorial wall. Afterwards a ceremony for the repose of souls was held.

Last year the participants of the jury members-actors of the 4^th Recitation Republican Youth Contest-Festival held under the auspice of the Speaker of the National Assembly (which we remind was dedicated to the four peaks of Western Armenian poetry, including Petros Durian) recited from his works.

The ceremony of Petros Durian’s memory was wound up with censing.
