Within the “Open Lesson” framework of the National Assembly on February 6 a group of students: post-graduates, Masters of science and professors of State Engineering University of Armenia (SEUA) visited the parliament.
First they were at the plenary sitting of the National Assembly, and then they met with the Speaker of the National Assembly. On February 6 two-month anniversary was marked for Samvel Nikoyan’s post as the Speaker of the National Assembly, on the occasion of which the participants congratulated him, and having a sincere talk they addressed their questions to the NA Speaker.
Meanwhile, the Speaker of the National Assembly briefly introduced the activity and functions of the parliament to the participants of the “Open Lesson,” touching upon the legislative work with the example of the day’s sitting. Regarding the “Open Lesson” programme, in the NA Speaker’s words, its goal is not only the introduction ofthe works of the parliament to the students, schoolchildren and the possibility of immediate contact with the presidency and representatives of the higher legislative body, but also creating an arena of getting experience of public activity, communication for the participants of the programme through question-and-answer and immediate talks.
Samvel Nikoyan answered the various questions of the participants of the meeting, which related personally to the NA Speaker and his political activity, and the bills under debate in the parliament and different spheres of public life.
