On April 6 the NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov conducted “open lesson” with the 4-year students of the Faculty of the Internal Relations of Yerevan State and Glador Universities.

According the NA Deputy Speaker, such meetings are important from the view that first it gets impetus about the problems concerning the students and tries to find objective answers of the question in the context of general political developments, on the other hand, they get acquainted with the works of the legislative body, parliamentary diplomacy, get better understanding of the inner and foreign policy of the country.

The lesson went on in Q & A session, which predetermined the sincerity and concreteness of the discussion.

The students were particularly interested in the problem of the labour market and the role of the state in providing the newly graduate specialists with work.

First, Mr Sharmazanov presented the economic bases, recording that from gaining independence Armenia has turned from planning economy into market economy. The peculiarity of the latter is that the state shall create equal competitive conditions for everybody, without intervening in the activity of this or that entity, in that series also the specialist’s choice. It is understandable that the competitive principle will oblige the state and private sector be interested in the best one. Regarding the incompliance of the graduates and demanding specialists of the higher educational institutions and providing of equality, the Armenian Government works out a new programme for the settlement of the problem, According to the steps to be envisaged, entering into the higher educational institution will be more facilitated, and graduating will become difficult through defining higher landmark. In this case, the factors of competitive knowledge and awareness will be more decisive in getting the job.

In response to the students' question if the process reagrding the Armenian-Turkish protocols was substantiated and beneficial for us, Mr Sharmazanov positively answered, saying: "Seeing the realistic and consistent steps the international community Armenia appreciated as confident counterpart, and the real face of Turkey was revealed. It became undertstandable that the reason of the Turkish closed border is only Turkey, the process of the Genocide condemnation won."

Touching upon the Karabakh problem the NA Deputy Speaker noticed: "We are not for the solution of the issue at any price: it must be solved in dignified and acceptable version for us. It is important that today while discussing the issue together with the priciple of territorial integrity another international principle of the nations' self-determination right is also equally highlighted. And with the last principle the cases of the solutions of the issues become more frequent." In the context of the foreign political problems of the country the NA Deputy Speaker highlighted the problem of the national security, without which it is not possible to provide neither inner stability and nor democracy.

During the meeting issues realting to the protection of human rights and overcoming corruption phenomena were also discussed.
