On April 6 the next sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport was held moderated by Artak Davtyan, where the Committee debated and endorsed the package of draft laws “On Amending the RA Law on General Education” and “On Amending the RA Law on Education” submitted by the RA Government. It will be included in the draft laws of the agendas of the NA Spring upcoming four-day sittings. In the course of the debate the Committee member Anahit Bakhshyan expressed wish to be co-author, which the RA Deputy Minister of Education and Science Manuk Mkrtchyan considered acceptable.

The Committee Chairman Artak Davtyan noticed that by the adoption of the package of bills the RA Law “On Education of the Persons Having Special Conditions of Education” adopted in 2005 would be considered not in force.

The Committee also decided to debate the bills in the format of parliamentary hearings during the next session.

At the authors’ proposal the debate of a group of bills was postponed.
