RA NA Standing Committees Are Held

On January 29 the standing committees of the National Assembly convened sittings.

The NA Standing Committee on Health Care, Maternity and Childhood moderated by Ara Babloyan in the first reading debated the package of bills “On Amending the RA Law on Psychiatric Aid” and “On Amending the RA Law on Advocacy,” which presented the co-author, NA deputy Davit Harutyunyan.

The Committee endorsed the package for including it in the agendas of the session and the upcoming four-day sittings.

The deputies in the first reading also debated the bill “On Encouraging the Children’s Breastfeeding and Circulation of Children’s Food” and the package of bills adjacent to it, which presented the co-author Ara Babloyan.

The Committee endorsed it for including it in the session agenda.

The NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs presided over by Elinar Vardanyan debated the issue of submitting to the National Assembly on the draft laws “On Amending the RA Family Code” and “On Amending the RA Law on the Acts of Civil Status” being included in the draft law of the agenda of the third session of the fifth convocation of the National Assembly.

The key reporter, RA Justice Minister Hrayr Tovmasyan noted that parliamentary hearings had been organized on them, as a result of which, and admissible formulations had been made.

The deputy welcomed the amendments made by the government and endorsed the debated bills for including them in the agenda draft laws of the NA third session and upcoming four-day sittings.

The Committee made a decision to cancel the term of including the RA draft law “On Amending the RA Law on Advertisement” in the draft law of the NA February 4-7 four-day sittings’ agenda up to one year by the co-author deputy Artsvik Minasyan.

The NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs moderated by Koryun Nahapetyan debated the package of bills “On Amending the RA Law on State Material Reserve” and “On Amending the RA Law on State and Office Secret,” which presented the RA Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Yeritzyan.

The Committee Chairman proposed to regulate the problem in the context of the government’s authorities.

The Committee also debated the package of bills proposing amendments “On Amending the RA Law “On Money Laundering and Combating against Terrorism Financing” and to a number of laws, which submitted the Chairman of the RA Central Bank Artur Javadyan.

Koryun Nahapetyan proposed to include the package of bills only in the session agenda and give an opportunity to the deputies to get thoroughly familiarized with the draft laws until the next sitting of the committee, to organize working debates with the authors and submit their recommendations, which was accepted by Artur Javadyan and committee members.

The package of bills was endorsed to be included in the session agenda.

On the same day the NA Standing Committee on Social Affairs debated the RA draft law “On Amending the RA Labor Code” authored by Galust Sahakyan, Karine Atchemyan and Hayk Grigoryan.

The deputies also debated the package of the RA draft laws authored by the Government “On Amending the RA Law on the Payment, Service and Security Provision of the RA President,” “On Amending the Law on Social Security of the Families of the RA President, Deputies of the National Assembly, Prime Minister, Members of the Government, Members of the Constitutional Court, Chairman of the Control Chamber and Judges in case of Their Death While Assuming Their Office Obligations or in Relation to Fulfilling Them or Fully Losing the Capability to Work,” “On Amending the RA Law on Constitutional Court,” “On Amending the RA Law on Prosecutor’s Office.”

The debated bills were endorsed to be included in the draft agendas of the session and the February 4-7 four-day sittings.
