The delegation led by the NA Vice President Eduard Sharmazanov was in the Republic of Belarus on a working visit on July 11-14. In Minsk the parliamentary delegation took part in the 7th session of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission on Cooperation between the National Assembly of Armenia and the National Assembly of Belarus. During the visit the Deputy Speaker had a meeting with the Deputy Speaker of the NA House of Representatives of Belarus Viktor Guminsky. The parliamentary delegation met with the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko, as well as the Governor of Brest Marz Konstantin Sumar. As Eduard Sharmazanov noted, during the meetings he has also touched upon the NK issue, particularly, the armament race being implemented by Azerbaijan and its danger in the region.

In advance of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide the NA Deputy Speaker has proposed the colleagues of Belarus to work on the announcement or resolution, where any phenomenon of racism and fascism aimed against nations will be condemned. Two agenda issues were also at the centre of the meetings, which were of political and trade-economic accentuations. A number of problems directed to the development of the bilateral economic relations were discussed.

NA deputies, members of Armenia-Belarus Friendship Group Hovhannes Margaryan and Martin Sargsyan were also attending the press conference. The latter noted in the future a sub-committee would create, where representatives of different NGOs would be included. The aim will be one: to raise the existing problems, which would promote the development of the bilateral business. An agreement was also reached to organize a business forum of the two countries. Hovhannes Margaryan considered peculiar the reached agreements and underlined that they were important for the countries having strategic relations. Taking into account that the Armenian-Belarus economic relations still concede the level of political relations, hence works are also underway to create a Belarusian Trade House in Armenia and to deepen the regional, community cooperation between the two countries. The speakers documented with joy that the cooperation between Syunik and Minsk marzes had been launched, and the agreement of cooperation had been signed between the marzes of Ararat and Brest. Within the framework the delegation led by Eduard Sharmazanov accompanied by the colleagues of Belarus visited Memorial Complex Brest Hero-Fortress and laid a wreath at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, as well as at the tomb of the 8 Armenian sons, who died during the protective battles of the castle. Eduard Sharmazanov noted that during the meeting with the Governor of Brest region expressed readiness to install a khachkar (cross stone) symbolizing the friendship of the Armenian and Belarus peoples in the territory of the Memorial Complex.
