On September 19 the RA NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan, the Speaker of the U.S. California State Assembly John Pèrez and the members of the delegation led by him visited the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, where His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians received them.

In the course of the meeting the Catholicos of All Armenians welcomed with satisfaction the cooperation being formed between the RA National Assembly and the U.S. California State Assembly. His Holiness also expressed his assessment to the members of the California State Assembly for recognizing and condemning the 1915 Armenian Genocide.

During the talk the sides touched upon the life of the Armenian community of California and its important contribution in the development of the state.

The Speaker of the U.S. California State Assembly John Pèrez thanked the Catholicos of All Armenians for warm reception in the spiritual centre, touched upon the goal of the visit and the role of the Armenian Church in the life of all Armenians.
