On September 23 the Chairman of the RA National Assembly Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Davit Harutyunyan, members of the Committee Arpine Hovhannisyan and Edmon Marukyan met with the delegation of the Legal Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Representatives of the People’s Republic of China led by the Vice Chairman Sun Baoshu. The President of the RA Constitutional Court Gagik Harutyunyan was taking part in the meeting.

The Head of the Chinese Parliamentary delegation noticed that during their two-day visit they had managed to feel the Armenian people’s sincere and warm attitude towards the Chinese people. He expressed hope that this visit also would be a stimulus for developing and strengthening the Armenian-Chinese relations, as well as boost the cooperation and exchange of experience of the two parliamentary committees.

The Chairman of the RA National Assembly Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Davit Harutyunyan welcomed the guests’ visit to the parliament of Armenia and presented them the composition of the committee led by him and the main functions, the implemented legislative reforms and the steps aimed at making the parliamentary hearings more effective.

During the talk both sides highlighted the fulfillment of the constitutional control function, the effective exchange of experience of other countries of the implementation of legislative reforms and the provision of reflection of the best national traditions in the national legislations. The representatives of the Committee introduced to each other the phases of the adoption of the laws and procedures, differences and common features of the discussion.
