RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan Receives the Chairman of the Riga City Council

On October 11 the RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan received the delegation led by the Chairman of the Riga City Council Nil Ushakov.

The NA President has documented with satisfaction that during the recent period the Armenian-Latvian relations dynamically develop, and high-ranking mutual visits, bilateral meetings within the framework of international forums greatly promote that, which creates good preconditions for developing more active cooperation in different spheres between the two countries. In the further rapprochement of the Armenian-Latvian bilateral relations the NA President highlighted the further development of inter-parliamentary cooperation. “I am glad that you have again visited Yerevan this time to take part in the festive events dedicated to the 2795th anniversary of our capital, and it is important that both sides express readiness to further expand the warm and friendly relations between Yerevan and Riga and put them on practical bases,” Hovik Abrahamyan noted. He welcomed the mutually beneficial cooperation between the partner cities in different spheres and emphasized the expansion of relations between the local self-government bodies.

Thanking for the reception the Chairman of the Riga City Council highly assessed the Armenian-Latvian cooperation and noted that their goal was to further strengthen and deepen the existing warm relations and cooperation between Riga and Yerevan. Nil Ushakov informed the NA President that they were intended to organize in Riga a big event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. He expressed hope that in future Yerevan-Riga flight will be imple mented, which would be an additional stimulus for deepening the bilateral cooperation and trade-economic relations.
