The Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs Koryun Nahapetyan, members of the Committee Artur Setpanyan, Khachatur Kokobelyan, Arakel Movsisyan, Tevan Poghosyan and Ishkhan Khachatryan visited the RA Police Educational Complex on a working visit on October 16.
The NA deputies laid a wreath at the pedestal of the monument eternalizing the memory of the deceased policemen defending the RA state borders and fulfilling their office duty. Then accompanied by the Head of the Educational Complex, general-lieutenant Hovhannes Varyan and the head staff of the Educational Complex they took a tour in the Educational Complex, got acquainted with the educational centre, the educational conditions of the college and the academy, the facility and technical possibilities and presented specialized literature to the library of the Educational Complex.
The NA deputies met with the students of the RA Police Educational Complex, presented the spheres of the Committee activities, the procedure of the legislative reforms made in the police system, got acquainted with the every day life of the students and answered the questions concerning their sphere. Koryun Nahapetyan highly assessed the policeman’s role not only in keeping public order, preventing and disclosing crimes and protection of human rights, but also deemed their important problem the mission of winning the public trust with their style of behavior and strengthening police-public link.
Then the Committee members met with the lecturers’ staff of the Educational Complex, discussed the educational programmes, educational process and problems concerning the efficiency. The NA deputies recorded with joy that during the recent years rather serious moves have been in the sphere in terms of teaching, formation of new way of thinking and technical upgrading. Answering the questions regarding the procedure of the legislative reforms of the police sphere and listening to the lawyer lecturers’ views Koryun Nahapetyan invited them to the National Assembly to take part in the debates going on in the Committee and submit their recommendations.
