On October 23 the parliament continued the work. The NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan, who was moderating the sitting, announced that Zaruhi Postanjyan had been elected Head of the Heritage faction, and the Secretary of the faction was elected Tevan Poghosyan.

The Head of the parliament proposed to welcome a group of teachers and pupils of Yerevan Grigor Zohrap Senior School N 43, who visited the National Assembly within the framework of the NA Open Lesson programme and were following the works of the NA sitting..

Afterwards the parliament in the first reading passed the package of the draft laws “On Amending the RA Law on Employment” and “On Amending the RA Code on Administrative Infringements,” debated on the previous day.

After voting the deputies continued the debate of the bill “On the Payment of the Persons Occupying State Posts” with enclosed package presented by the Chief-Minister of the Staff of the RA Government Vache Gabrielyan.

The Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Social Affairs Hakob Hakobyan noted that the package had been debated in the Committee and endorsed.

The key and co-reporters answered the deputies’ questions, which were mainly relating to the salaries.

During the exchange of thoughts NA deputies Tevan Poghosyan, Artsvik Minasyan, Khosrov Harutyunyan, Artashes Geghamyan and Aram Manukyan delivered speeches.

The debate of the issue will continue at October 24 NA sitting.

At the sitting Hovhannes Margaryan presented the interpellation of the Rule of Law, which was relating to the freedom fighters of the Artsakh war and the providing priveleges during the process of compensation of USSR deposits of the Afghanistan war participants.

The RA Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Artem Asatryan presented the answer of the Government on the interpellation.

In accordance with the NA Rules of Procedure, the last hour of the Wednesday sitting was allotted to the Q & A session between deputies and members of the government.
