On November 6 the RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan received the Founder-Chairperson of “Zinvor” (Soldier) Coordinating Council Margarita Khachatryan and the members of the Council.

Welcoming the guests the NA President highlighted the parliament-civil society continuous cooperation, their involvement in the works of the NA Committees and in this context he highly appreciated the effective cooperation of “Zinvor” Coordinating Council and the NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs. In Hovik Abrahamyan’s word, the National Assembly permanently keeps in the centre of its attention the problems regarding the sphere, and meetings, discussions, parliamentary hearings are organized over the issues concerning the society and of public sounding, which increase the army-society relationship, promotes solution of the problems existing in the sphere and making them public.He highly assessed the activity of “Zinvor” Coordinating Council, which contributes to the reinforcement of army-society relationship, the rise of trust of the community towards the army and raising the problems existing in the sphere.

Thanking for the reception Margarita Khachatryan also deemed important the cooperation with the National Assembly, particularly, the Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs and noted that the organization had prepared a big package of legislative amendments concerning the sphere, which in future would submit to the Committee. The Chairperson of “Zinvor” (Soldier) Coordinating Council has introduced to Hovik Abrahamyan the activity of the organization, the work done and works to be done, noting that 68 organizations of the RA and the NKR are in the composition of the Council. The Council implements works with the family members of died and deceased military servicemen, supporting the solution of their social, healthcare and legal problems, the members of the Council regularly visit military units and hospitals, concerts are organized in the military units, etc.

The Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs Koryun Nahapetyan highlighted the effective cooperation with the organization and assured that the Committee would debate the submitted recommendations.

At the end of the meeting the Founder-Chairperson of “Zinvor” (Soldier) Coordinating Council Margarita Khachatryan awarded Hovik Abrahamyan the “Soldier of the Motherland” Medal.
