On November 7 the RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan received the delegation led by the Deputy Prime of the Republic of Iraq Rosh Nouri Shauwish.
Welcoming the guests the NA President noted with satisfaction that the Deputy Prime Minister’s previous visit had been of essential importance in the development of bilateral relations, especially in the trade-economic cooperation. By Hovik Abrahamyan’s conviction, this visit also will be of practical importance for the Armenian-Iraqi developing relations.
Thanking for the reception, the Deputy Prime of the Republic of Iraq Rosh Nouri Shauwish highlighted the further development of the Armenian-Iraqi cooperation in different spheres, noting that during the recent year a big work had been done in this direction.
In the course of the meeting the sides emphasized the further activation and deepening of inter-parliamentary relations, the development of trade-economic relations. Both sides recorded that the Armenian-Iraqi Intergovernmental Commission had a big contribution to the formation and establishment of the Armenian-Iraqi trade-economic relations. The sides highlighted the implementation of the investment programmes regarding the different spheres, expressing confidence that development and progress was expected for the Armenian-Iraqi trade-economic relations.
At the request of the Iraqi side on the same day the working meeting of the NA President Hovik Abrahamyan with the businessmen accompanying by the Deputy Prime Minister of Iraq was held. During the meeting issues relating to trade-economic relations were discussed. In terms of boosting the economic cooperation the Iraqi businessmen highlighted the issues of visa facilitation and the air communication between the two countries. Both sides emphasized the policy of investment encouragement and the necessity of creating joint ventures.
