RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan Receives the Ambassador of Latvia to Armenia

On February 21 the RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan received Elita Gavele, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Latvia to Armenia.

Congratulating the newly appointed Ambassador, the NA President Hovik Abrahamyan expressed confidence that during his diplomatic tenure the relations between the two countries would further deepen, the inter-parliamentary cooperation would develop, and the trade-economic relations would activate. Documenting with satisfaction that the relations between Armenia and Latvia are dynamically developing during the recent period, the NA President has noted that there are big opportunities and perspectives for further development and deepening of relations. Reserving a special place in the Armenian-Latvian cooperation to the parliamentary relations, Hovik Abrahamyan has noted that the further deepening of inter-parliamentary cooperation is important for the rapprochement of the Armenian-Latvian relations.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia thanked the NA President for the reception and ensured that during her tenure she would do her best for developing and deepening the relations between the two countries. In her word, during the recent years Armenia has recorded considerable successes in different spheres. Highly appreciating the current level of bilateral relations and recording the achievements, Mrs Gavele has expressed conviction that there is a big potential, in particular, in the trade-economic sphere.

In the course of the meeting both sides highlighted the deepening of cooperation within the framework of the EU Eastern Partnership and the cooperation in the international institutions.
