On February 21 the NA Standing Committees on Social Affairs and on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs organized a meeting with the members of the NGO ''Council of the Deceased and Missing Freedom Fighters' Relatives.'' Let us note that on February 18 the NA President met with the members of the NGO ''Council of the Deceased and Missing Freedom Fighters' Relatives,'' where he gave an assignment to the Chairmen of the NA Standing Committees on Social Affairs and on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs to hold a working discussion, to hear the problems raised by the relatives of the deceased, if necessary, settle them by law.
Introducing the deteriorating situation of the deceased and missing freedom fighters’ relatives, the members of the NGO proposed to increase the size of the monetary aid providing to them by 25% and include them in socially needy layers, who make use of some privileges of the communal service. By the assessment of the NGO members, this proposal pursues the goal of not improving the social situation, but at least avoiding from deterioration.
Responding with perception to their proposal, the Committee chairmen Koryun Nahapetyan and Hakob Hakobyan assured them that the problem would be discussed in the committees, and they would try to find legislative and regulatory solution mechanisms for facilitating the situation.
During the meeting other problems connected with the social security of the deceased and missing freedom fighters' relatives were also discussed.
