Chairman of the NA Standing Committee Meets with the Head of Representation of Russian Cooperation

On June 10 the Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Artak Zakaryan met with Mark Kalinin, Head of the Representation of Russian Cooperation.

Artak Zakaryan expressed satisfaction with the initiatives of the Representation of Russian Cooperation, the humanitarian programmes implemented by them in Armenia and expressed readiness to support the effective implementation of those programmes.

By Mark Kalinin’s assessment, the programmes should be demanded for the effectiveness of the work, hence, the Armenian MPs’ viewpoints and recommendation are also important. He has informed that the Representation takes into consideration the international leading experience, the current real situation, the young people’s aspiration and works to implement such programmes, which will promote the education at the higher educational institutions and at school, the revelation of professional capabilities, competition, the reinforcement of the cultural and scientific ties between Russia and Armenia, the Armenian and Russian students’ contacts and the inter-regional humanitarian cooperation. He has informed that on June 20 at the Armenia Mariott Hotel the Representation of Russian Cooperation will organize an exhibition relating to high technologies, a roundtable is also designed with the participation of the concerned representatives of the executive bodies of Russia and Armenia, and asked the representatives of the parliament also to take part in those discussions.

Accepting the proposal, the Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Artak Zakaryan has noted that the National Assembly welcomes the holding of such events and is ready not only to cooperate with the Representation, but also to implement joint programmes.

It was decided to meet again in the near future to thoroughly discuss the problems of the implementation of the perspective joint programmes.
