Parliament Continues the Work of the Four-day Sittings

On October 1 the National Assembly continued the work of the four-day sittings passing by voting the Technical Agreement on Cooperation and Support within the Framework of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon Signed between the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia and the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Italy signed in Brussels on June 3, 2014, which was considered on the previous day and the bill “On Amending the RA Law on Local Duties and Payments” authored by the deputies Vahram Baghdasaryan, Araik Hovhannisyan, Artsvik Minasyan, Margarit Yesayan, Tevan Poghosyan, Mnatskan Mnatsakanyan and Stepan Margaryan.

The draft law “On Amending the RA Law on Legal Regime of the State of Emergency” authored by the ANC Faction deputies, was refused.

By the proposal of the NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan the deputies welcomed the lecturers and students of the Northern University, who had visited the parliament within the framework of the “Open Lesson” programme and were following the sitting.

Then the parliament continued debating the report of the Public Television Company Council on the Activity of the Public Television and Radio Company for 2013.

The Chairman of the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Artak Davtyan presented the view of the Head Committee.

The NA deputies Heghine Bisharyan, Samvel Farmanyan, Shirak Torosyan, Ruzanna Muradyan,

Alexander Arzumanyan presented their views on the issue under debate.

The RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov gave an extraordinary speech, noting that positive progress had been registered.

The debate of the report will continue at October 2 sitting of the National Assembly.

By the established order of the RA NA Rules of Procedure at the Wednesday last sitting the members of the Government answered the deputies’ questions.
