1 / 6

On October 3 the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport led by Artak Davtyan attended the exhibition titled “Under Parajanov’s Light” dedicated to the well acclaimed filmmaker Sergey Parajanov’s 90th birth anniversary, which this time was held in Gavar, in the Museum of Local Lore of the RA Gegharkunik Marz. According to the organizers, the programme had a big response in Gegharkunik. The territorial phase of the programme followed the marz phase. 1200 teenagers and young people from 8 to 17 age groups took part in the competition. 51 participants came out to the marz phase.

Artak Davtyan expressed his satisfaction and gratitude to those responsible for showing interest towards the exhibition and responding to it. According to Artak Davtyan, the initiative is important as Armenia represents itself with rich culture, witnessing that an Armenian by his/her essence has always been creative. According to him, the goal of this cultural event is mainly the following: not only to focus on talented teenager boys and girls, but also to reveal gifted children.

The member of the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, the jury member Karine Atshemyan has noted that the children will remember long this memorable day which had been turned into a holiday. In the deputy's opinion, the goal of these various cultural programmes is to boost the development of the children's skills and capabilities, disclose their natural gift and talent. This initiative, according to Karine Atshemyan, is the first step of leveling the path of their future.

Then the jury members observed the children's paintings, collage works, chose the eight best works, which will be shown in the RA National Assembly. After the event the guests took a tour in the Museum of Local Lore and got acquainted with the exhibits of the Museum.
