On October 9 the Chairman of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Artak Zakaryan met with the members of the IPA CIS Budgetary Oversight Commission.

Welcoming the members of the Commission in the Parliament Artak Zakaryan has noted that the role of the IPA CIS is significant in the strengthening of inter-parliamentary relations. The Chairman of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations has expressed confidence that from now on the parliamentarians will make all efforts to make their initiatives stemming from the interest of their countries and peoples and will find their effective solutions.

During the meeting the parties have touched upon Armenia’s accession to the Customs Union and the Eurasian Economic Union, highlighted the role of the parliamentary diplomacy, the necessity of the exchange of experience in the legislative and other spheres.

In the course of the meeting the parties also referred to other issues of bilateral interest. It has been noted that the inter-parliamentary relations with a number of CIS countries are weak, and they need to be developed in future.
