On October 25 on the occasion of the 25^th anniversary of “Iravunk” newspaper the RA NA President Galust Sahakyan awards the RA NA Medal of Honour to the RA NA deputy Hayk Babukhanyan, the RA NA diplomas to the Editor-in-Chief of the “Iravunk” newspaper Hovhannes Galajyan, to the responsible officer for the news website of the “Iravunk” Armenuhi Hakobyan and to journalists Hrant Sarafyan and Ilona Azaryan.

Congratulating the staff of “Iravunk” newspaper on the occasion of the jubilee, the RA National Assembly President Galust Sahakyan has noted that the “Iravunk” is the guide of independence, and to some extent it is also one of the symbols of independence. In the RA NA Speaker’s word, more than a quarter of century the “Iravunk” newspaper gives chronicles of Armenia’s new history through different journalistic genres, exercising the constitutional right of free speech, giving an opportunity to the society to exercise its right of being informed and aware. Galust Sahakyan has highlighted the fact that the “Iravunk” has succeeded to preserve the somber feeling of topicality, the due perception of reality, the aspiration and tendency of deeply analyzing the situation. The RA NA President wished the staff of the newspaper endless energy in the realization of the journalistic mission.

Thanking for the awards the RA NA deputy Hayk Babukhanyan has noted that the newspaper is adherent to its adopted national ideology and doesn't avoid reflecting impartially public life events. He has expressed hope that the “Iravunk” newspaper will give an opportunity to continue its mission demanded by the different layers of the society.
