Parliamentary Hearings at the NA Standing Committee

On October 27 the RA NA Standing Committee on Social Affairs initiated parliamentary hearings to debate the package of draft laws “On Amending the RA Law on Temporary Invalidity,” “On Amending the RA Law on State Allowances” and “On Amending the RA Law on Income Tax.”

The NA Deputy Speaker Hermine Naghdalyan, the NA deputies, the RA Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Artem Asatryan, specialists of the Ministry, representatives of the Human Rights Defender’s Staff and the NGOs were taking part.

Smbat Saiyan, the First Deputy of the RA State Social Security Service, presented the amendments proposed in the RA Law “On Temporary Invalidity” and in the enclosed laws, talked about the dynamics of the expenditures made in the direction of pregnancy and childbirth allowances and the impact of subjective factors on their level.

Smbat Saiyan presented the recommendations received as a result of meetings with the different layers of the society.

The RA Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Artem Asatryan thanked the initiators for the organization of the hearings. During the debate numerous issues were voiced, which were clarified.

Summing up the hearings the Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Social Affairs Hakob Hakobyan urged the participants to submit recommendations in written form, which would be thoroughly debated.
