On November 4 the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs moderated by Koryun Nahapetyan in the first reading debated the package of draft laws “On Amending the RA Law on Conscription” and “On Higher Educational and Post-Graduate Professional Education.”

The second item of the agenda was the draft law “On Amending the RA Law on Conscription,” and the author of the draft law Edmon Marukyan substantiated its necessity.

The RA Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Artem Asatryan presented the endorsement of the RA Government on the recommendation made by the author of the law.

This draft law will be included in the agenda of the NA autumn session and the upcoming four-day sittings.

By the decision of the Committee in future parliamentary hearings will be held.

On the same day the next sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport moderated by Artak Davtyan was convened. The draft law “On Amending the RA Law “On Scientific and Scientific-Technical Activity” was submitted for consideration in the second reading. The Committee endorsed the draft law to include it in the draft law of the agenda of the NA upcoming four-day sittings.

Then the Committee Chairman Artak Davtyan with his colleagues debated the issue of organizing public hearings on the theme “The Problems of the Cultural Policy” in the future. The Committee Chairman has noted that the public hearings are scheduled to be held in the RA National Assembly and in Shushi, the NKR.

Let us note that the republican phase of the event entitled “Under Parajanov’s Light,” which had a great response in the RA different marzes and cities will be held in the National Assembly on November 12.

On the same day at the sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on Social Affairs moderated by Hakob Hakobyan in the first reading the package of the draft law “On Amending the RA Law “On State Pensions” and relevant draft laws was debated, which presented the RA Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Artem Asatryan.

The edited version of the draft law “On Amending the RA Law on Minimum Monthly Salary” in the first reading was debated.

Artem Asatryan presented the edited version of the package of the draft law “On Temporary Invalidity Allowances” and the relevant draft laws.

The deputies in the first reading debated the draft law “On Amending the RA Law on the Payment of the Persons Occupying State Posts.” The key reporter, the representative of the Ministry of Finance Arman Poghosyan informed the attendees the goal of the draft law.

Then the deputies, in accordance with Article 80 of the RA Law NA Rules of Procedure, submitted recommendation on the expenditures of the social sphere of the RA draft law “On the RA State Budget for 2015.”

The draft laws were endorsed to be included in the agendas of the sixth session of the fifth convocation and at November 10-13 four-day sittings.
