On November 26 the RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov met with the students, future politologists and diplomats of the Faculty of International Relations of Yerevan State University (YSU). During more than two hours of the warm and sincere atmosphere talk the NA Deputy Speaker answered the students’ various questions, which mostly related to the key issues of the RA foreign and inner policy, the social-economic situation and tendencies of development, the process of the NK conflict settlement, the process of the recognition of the Armenian Genocide and the events dedicated to its Centennial, the expectations from the accession to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), etc.

One of the questions concerning the students was the process of the NK conflict settlement, in response to which Mr Sharmazanov has noted that Armenia sees exclusively by peaceful settlement, in the format of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs. In the Deputy Speaker’s word, the execution of the right of Artsakh people’s self-determination has no alternative.

In response to the question on the events to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide, the NA Deputy Speaker has informed the students that remembrance events will be organized in the country and beyond its borders, particularly the photo exhibitions dedicated to the Armenian Genocide will be organized in the parliaments of Cyprus, Greece and the Czech Republic. To his assessment, the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide and the struggle against its denial will continue to remain one of the most important foreign political issues of the country, which has the goal not only to restore the historical truth, but also to prevent possible similar crimes.

At the students’ request the NA Deputy Speaker has also talked about the process of the accession to the EEU and its possible influence on the economy of Armenia. In this context, he has also noted the positive tendencies, which are already tangible: preservation of the gas tariff, development of jewellery, increase of the export volumes and the possibility of about 170mln market.
