On November 27 the RA NA Stanidng Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs was in Shirak Marz on a working visit. The deputies got familiarized with the problems concerning the citizens on the spot and tried to find the ways of their solution.

The first stop of the visit was Gyumri Municipality, where the Chair of the Committee Elinar Vardanyan met with the Mayor of Gyumri Samvel Balasanyan. During the meeting numerous issues concerning the residents’ problems were discussed. After the meeting the Committee Chair went to Shirak Marz Office of the Staff of the Human Rights Defender. The employees of the Office submitted to Mrs Vardanyan the procedure of the discussion of the citizens’ application-complaints. They also presented the statistics and content of the application-complaints.

Then the Committee Chair Elinar Vardanyan, Committee members Hayk Khachatryan and Zaruhi Postanjyan in the cities of Gyumri and Artik met with the citizens, listened to the problems concerning them, which related to the social, communal, health, legal spheres and housing provision. They promised to submit them to those responsible in the relevant departments of the government, and to voice about the problems requiring legislative solution in the parliament.
