On February 17 the delegation led by the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament David Usupashvili who had arrived in Armenia on a two-day official visit went to Tsitsernakaberd Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex accompanied by the RA NA Deputy Speaker Hermine Naghdalyan and the member of the Inter-Parliamentary Committee on Cooperation between the RA National Assembly and the Georgian Parliament Vladimir Badalyan.
The guests laid a wreath and flowers at the monument eternalizing the memory of the genocide victims and honoured in one-minute silence the memory of the innocent victims.
In the name of the Georgian people the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament David Usupashvili once again expressed his condolence to the Armenian people in connection with the tragedy occurred to the Armenian people 100 years ago. “We should do our utmost in order not only such tragedies aren’t repeated, but also there aren’t wars, and peace reigns in the world,” the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament said. He has noted that the Georgian people are next to the Armenian people both in the moments of sadness and joy.
