On February 17 the RA NA Speaker, the President of the Governmental Council of Armenian State Pedagogical University Galust Sahakyan visited the higher educational institution to meet the professors and the lecturers.

At the solemn event the Chancellor of the University Ruben Mirzakhanyan handed Khachatur Abovyan gold medal to the Head of the parliament. “It is a great honour to deserve the highest award of the University,” the NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan has noted in his speech and added that besides being obligatory, it has got a special meaning. Welcoming the attendees, the Head of the legislative body has underlined that the higher educational system is the motivating force of the state; Armenian State Pedagogical University is the base, where future pedagogues are prepared. And as a President of the Governmental Council, Galust Sahakyan in his address to his colleagues once again has reaffirmed that for him the highest post has been and remains the pedagogue’s vocation and has underscored that the university will be at the centre of his everyday attention.

Let us note that the NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan has not visited the university empty handed. The Head of the parliament awarded 15 lecturers of the higher educational institution the NA diploma for the great and fruitful scientific-pedagogical activities contributed to the sphere of science and education.
