Parliament Ends the Work of the Extraordinary Sitting

On March 4 the RA National Assembly continued the work of the extraordinary sitting and by voting passed the bills debated on the previous day.

The debate of the legislative package on protection of the personal date has continued.

The deputies continued debating the legislative package “On Protection of Personal Data” and envisaging amendments to a number of related laws.

The MPs addressed questions to the speaker, the member of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Arpine Hovhannisyan. An exchange of thoughts was held: the deputies Tevan Poghosyan, Hovhannes Margaryan and Arpine Hovhannisyan submitted recommendations.

The Head of the ANC Faction Levon Zurabyan has informed that they will vote against the legislative package.

The RA First Deputy of Justcie Arsen Mkrtchyan and co-speaker Arpine Hovhannisyan touched upon recommendations and concerns and gave clarifications.

Issues concerning the cemeteries and crematoriums were debated.

Then the parliament in the first reading debated the legislative package “On Amending the RA Law on Organization of Funerals and Cemeteries and Operation of Crematoriums” and envisaging amendments to a number of related laws, which the RA Deputy Speaker of Justice Suren Krmoyan submitted.

The Deputy Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Territorial Management and Local Self-Government Araik Hovhannisyan presented the endorsement of the Committee.

An international agreement has been considered.

The RA Deputy Minister of Justice Arman Tatoyan submitted to the parliament for approval the Statute of The Hague Conference “On International Private Right” adopted on 31 October 1951.

Edmon Marukyan has informed that the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations has endorsed it.

The Government proposes to edit the RA law “On the RA Citizenship.”

The draft law “On Amending the RA Law on the RA Citizenship” in the first reading procedure submitted by the RA Deputy Head of Police Vardan Yeghiazaryan, was debated.

The member of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Arpine Hovhannisyan presented the endorsement of the Committee.

Then the parliament in the second reading debated the package of draft laws “On Amending the RA Law on the Payment, Service and Security Provision of the President of the Republic of Armenia” and “On Amending the RA Law on the State Officials' Social Guarantees.” The RA Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Artem Asatryan has noted that after the first reading recommendations in written form has not been submitted.

At the end of the sitting the deputies by voting passed all the bills debated during the day and ratified the agreement.

Exhausting the agenda of the extraordinary sitting the National Assembly ended the work of the sitting.
