Galust Sahakyan Attends the Swear-in Solemn Ceremony of Young Yerkrapah Volunteers

On March 5 on Sparapet Vazgen Sargsyan’s birthday, at the height of Tsitsernakaberd, in the square adjacent to K. Demirchyan Sport Complex the young yerkrapah (defenders of the land) volunteers representing all marzes of the republic solemnly sworn-in to keep high yerkrapah’s honour, continue with full devotion the grandfathers’ and fathers’ glorious work and do not spare their life for the defense of the Motherland.

The Assistant to the RA President Avetis Berberyan issued the address by the RA President Serzh Sargsyan on the occasion of the young yerkrapahs’ sworn-in ceremony.

The RA NA President Galust Sahakyan in his word first has congratulated the young volunteers, then has noted that it is a day f or thinking over and being proud of: to think over about the path of our state and statehood.

In the history of not early past the monumental character of Vazgen Sargsyan, the Armenian Sparapet soars up with its magnificence. He has been more than an intellectual, more than a freedom fighter, more than a military,” the NA Speaker said.

Galust Sahakyan wished the young yerkrapah volunteers to selflessly continue the sacred work of the Armenian Sparapet Vazgen Sargsyan, entire devotion and struggle for our country and Artsakh.

The RA Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan, the Chairman of the Department of the Yerkrapah Volunteers’ Union, General-Lieutenant Manvel Grigoryan congratulated the young yerkrapah volunteers and wished them all the best.

At the end of the sworn-in ceremony a solemn parade was held. The young yerkrapah volunteers showed their skills of mastering the Eastern martial arts.

On the initiative of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians from now on March 5 will be marked as a blessing day of Young Yerkrapah Volunteers.
