On March 18 the sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport moderated by Artak Davtyan was held.
The NA deputy Aram Manukyan presented the draft law “On Amending the RA Law on Conservation and Use of the Immovable Monuments of History and Culture and Historical Environment” authored by the deputies of the NA ANC Faction Aram Manukyan, Stepan Demirchyan, Lyudmila Sargsyan, Levon Zurabyan.
In Aram Manukyan’s opinion, the list of the monuments considered the RA state property is expedient to approve by the RA National Assembly, but not by the government. According to the speaker, the capital has lost its historical look, as many buildings of the 19th and at the beginning of the 20th century have been destroyed or modified. Aram Manukyan has noted that all the recommendations concerning the draft have been adopted. The Committee Chairman Artak Davtyan has proposed to postpone the adoption of the draft law and thoroughly study the presented recommendations and conclusions. The debate of the issue has been postponed.
The RA Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan presented the draft law “On Amending the RA law on Education” in the second reading.
The draft law “On Scientific and Research-Technical Expertise” has been debated in the third reading.
The debated issues with the endorsement of the Committee will be included in the draft law of the NA upcoming four-day sittings.
