On March 31 the Speaker of the RA National Assembly Galust Sahakyan attended the exhibition dedicated to the 70^th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The Speaker of the RF FA State Duma Sergey Narishkin being in Armenia on a working visit and the RA Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan also attended the opening of the exhibition.

The exhibition with the heading “With the Roads of Great Victory” presents the Armenian and Russian painters’ fifteen canvases, which tell about war, victory and peace.

Speaking about the exhibition opened in the National Assembly the NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan has noted that exhibitions in that hall are often organised, but this one is special, as it is dedicated to the 70^th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. He has highlighted the role of culture in prevention of wars and establishment and maintenance of peace. The NA Speaker has noted that these works show the chronology of war and they reflect our peoples’ heroic past. Galust Sahakyan thanked the foundation “Initiatives for Development of Armenia” and the benefactors Ruben Vardanyan, Vladimir Nekrasov and Vladimir Avetisyan for the organisation of the exhibition and the provision of portraits.

Talking about the exhibition, the Speaker of the RF FA State Duma Sergey Narishkin has stated that he is impressed by the presented works: often the painter’s brush is louder than the words. The Speaker of the State Duma highlighted the role of the Armenian people’s hero sons in the Great Patriotic War and expressed his gratitude to the nations and heroes who protected the motherland at price of life and blood. Sergey Narishkin beforehand congratulated the attendees on the occasion of the 70^th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
