On April 24 the Chairman of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Artak Zakaryan received Benediktas Juodka, the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs. Erikas Petrikas, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Lithuania to the RA attended the meeting.
Welcoming his Lithuanian colleague, Artak Zakaryan thanked Benediktas Joudka for taking part in the events of the Armenian Genocide Centennial and paying tribute to the memory of the Armenian Genocide victims.
The sides discussed issues concerning the activation of the relations between the MPs of the two countries and the effective cooperation between the Committees.
In the course of the meeting the interlocutors touched upon the regional problems. The Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Relations of Seimas presented the main problems of Lithuania and the European Union, and Artak Zakaryan presented the position of Armenia on a number of political processes. The Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations in particular, referred to Armenia-European Union relations, as well as within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union the actions of Armenia and possibility of cooperation between the two Unions.
