Parliament Continues the Work of the Four-day Sittings

On May 20 the RA National Assembly continued the work of the four-day sitting ratifying by voting the financing agreement of the programme “Financing Support of the Sub-structures and the Villages” signed in Rome on 12 November 2014 between the Republic of Armenia and International Fund for Agricultural Development.

The deputies welcomed the lecturers and students of Khachatour Abovyan Armenian State Pedagogical University who visited the parliament within the framework of the Open Doors programme.

Afterwards the parliament continued considering the credit agreement “The Household Solid Waste Management of Kotayk Marz between the Republic of Armenia and the European Bank for Reconstruction Development” signed on 19 December 2014.

The members of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations and on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Tevan Poghosyan and Sukias Avetisyan introduced in detail the debates and the endorsements over the agreement in the committees.

The MPs Edmon Marukyan, Hrant Bagratyan, Mikayel Melkumyan, Tevan Poghosyan, Heghine Bisharyan, Hovhannes Margaryan, Ishkhan Khachatryan expressed their views on the agreement.

In their final speeches Sukias Avetisyan and the RA First Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations Vache Terteryan touched upon the deputies' interpellations and gave clarifications.

The parliament began debating the report “On the Activities of the RA Prosecutor’s Office for 2014”

Afterwards the parliament began considering the report “On the Activities of the RA Prosecutor’s Office for 2014” submitted by the RA General Prosecutor Gevorg Kostanyan and, according to NA Rules of Procedure, after the debate it was accepted as a knowledge.

About 30 deputies were enrolled for addressing Gevorg Kostanyan with questions. The debate of the report will continue at May 21 sitting.
