On May 21 the National Assembly continued the work of the four-day sittings.
The deputies welcomed the teachers and the pupils of Yeghvard Senior School N 1 of Kotayk Marz, who had come to the parliament to get acquainted with the peculiarities of the legislative work.
Afterwards the parliament ratified the credit agreement “The Household Solid Waste Management of Kotayk Marz between the Republic of Armenia and the European Bank for Reconstruction Development” signed on 19 December 2014.
The parliamentarians continued debating the report “On the Activities of the RA Prosecutor’s Office for 2014.”
The RA Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanyan answered the deputies’ numerous and various questions, which related to the quality of justice, the order of choosing judges and prosecutors election, the prosecutors’ control, the equality of the police actions, the revelation of the examination and crimes of the concrete cases, the efficiency of the cases, the corruption and the lack of professionalism in the Prosecutor’s Office, the judgments made by the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) towards the Republic of Armenia, the judges’ indecent work, the citizens’ violated rights, etc.
The NA deputies Aram Manukyan and Hovhannes Margaryan delivered speeches on the report.
The consideration of the issue will continue during the NA next four-day sittings.
