On July 17 the Head of the NA Armenia-Korea Friendship Group Samvel Farmanyan, Alexander Arzumanyan and Sukias Avetisyan met with Noh Young-min, Head of Korea-Armenia Friendship Group of the Republic of Korea and the members of the Group.

Welcoming the guests in the parliament the Head of the NA Armenia-Korea Friendship Group Samvel Farmanyan highlighted the development of the Armenian-Korean inter-parliamentary relations. He has noted that Armenia is interested in deepening the economic, cultural, and political ties of the two countries.

Samvel Farmanyan expressed his gratitude to the Republic of Korea for showing balanced approach to the problems of key importance for Armenia. He also thanked Noh Young-min for referring to the Armenian Genocide in his book. Talking about the NK problem Samvel Farmanyan touched upon the continuous efforts of failing the peaceful negotiating process by Azerbaijan.

Talking about the Armenian Genocide Centennial the Head of the NA Armenia-Korea Friendship Group has noted that the denial policy of Turkey causes double pain to our people, who survived the genocide.

Highlighting the deepening of the Armenian-Korean relations the member of Armenia-Korea Friendship Group has stated that Armenia is interested in the development of the information technologies and highly assesses the big experience of Korea in that sphere.

Noh Young-min has noted in his speech that he visits Armenia for the second time and thinks that the Korean and Armenian peoples have many historical commonalities. He has stated that the Armenian people’s tragedy is understandable for Koreans in the first part of his book “Modern Tragedies.” The Head of Korea-Armenia Group has documented that it has already been two years exhibitions are organized dedicated to the Armenian Genocide in Korea, where the members of Parliament of the Republic of Korea and the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Korea attend.

At the end of the meeting Noh Young-min gave his book “Modern Tragedies” to Samvel Farmanyan.

Afterwards the heads of the Friendship Groups met with the journalists and presented the issues discussed during the meeting.
