On October 2 the Chairman of the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs Koryun Nahapetyan, the Committee members Abraham Manukyan, Arakel Movsisyan, Artur Stepanyan, Mikayel Manukyan and Tevan Poghosyan visited the N Rocket Military Unit and the Snipers’ School of the RA Ministry of Defense. The goal of the visit was to get acquainted with the assault armament included in the RA Armed Forces, the troops’ readiness, the material-technical base and discuss the issues on the types of rocket-artillery weapons. During the discussion with the commanders’ staff the possibilities of the military unit, the reforms underway, the programmes of the modernization of the assault armament, the training of the human resources and the new armament items were presented.

During the tour in the Snipers’ School the members of the Committee got familiarized with the structure of the school, the educational possibilities and discussed the perspectives of cooperation with the relevant structures of the foreign countries and the exchange of experience.

On the same day the Committee members also visited the Central Clinical Military Hospital of the RA Ministry of Defense to see the servicemen who were wounded as a consequence of the shelling of the protection units of the Defense Army by the Azerbaijani armed forces. The Committee members got acquainted with the procedure of their treatment, talked with the doctors’ staff, the servicemen and their family members, wishing them health and quick recovery. They also discussed with the Head of the hospital issues on the military-medical sphere and, particularly, the activities of the Central Clinical Military Hospital.
