Ara Babloyan Takes Part in the Conference Organized by the Council of Europe

On October 20 in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Healthcare, Maternity and Childhood Ara Babloyan took part in the conference organized by the Council of Europe, which was dedicated to the Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence.

Representatives of more than 100 different countries took part in the conference, including representatives of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, Parliamentary Assembly, civil society, members of the Committee on Combating Legal Equality and Discrimination, parliamentarians of different countries took part in the conference. At the conference the RA NA deputy Ara Babloyan delivered a speech and noted that though the Republic of Armenia had not yet ratified the Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence, however passed a number of laws and amended laws, which ensure the women’s and men’s legal equality and the prevention of violence against women. It has also been noted that in the Draft Constitutional Amendments the provision of the women’s and men’s legal equality had also been enshrined.
