RA NA Speaker Takes Part in the Sessions of the CSTO PA and the IPA CIS Councils

On November 26 the RA NA Speaker took part in the session of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Parliamentary Assembly (CSTO PA) in Saint Petersburg.

During the session, among numerous items the report “The Priorities of the RA Presidency in the CSTO in 2016” by the RA NA Deputy Speaker, the Head of the RA NA Delegation to the CSTO PA Eduard Sharmazanov was also heard, which was accepted unanimously.

At the Session of the Parliamentary Assembly Council he Armenian Delegation proposed to hold the next session in Armenia in the first semester of 2016, which was accepted by the CSTO PA.

The Head of the RA Parliament Galust Sahakyan also took part in the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the IPA CIS Council within the framework of the working visit. Among the numerous items included in the agenda was the item of granting the IPA CIS Chingiz Aitmatov Award for 2015 to Hrachya Tamrazyan, Director of Yerevan Matenadaran (Institute of Ancient Manuscripts), a well-acclaimed scientist, literary and cultural figure was also discussed. The awarding ceremony will take place during the IPA CIS 43rd Plenary Session in Saint Petersburg on November 27.
