Announcement

The World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) is the largest youth demilitarized and depoliticized organization which unites more than 40 million juveniles and young people in about 160 countries of the world. The goal of the Movement is to build better world, where people are self-established and have constructive role in the society.

The National Scout Movement Organization of Armenia HASK (Spike) was re-established in Armenia on December 2, 1989. The World Scout Movement Committee recognized the National Scout Movement Organization of Armenia HASK NGO as a full member of the structure. The goal of the HASK is the upbringing of the conscientious, dutiful and active citizens, and in this direction this Organization has worked during more than past 25 years.

The creation of the World Scout Parliamentary Union (WSPU) at both national and international levels was announced by the parliaments of different countries in the Founding Conference held in Manila (The Philippines) for showing necessary assistance to scouting.

In 1999 a Parliamentary Group “Scouting Friend Parliamentarians” was created in the National Assembly of Armenia, which took part in the 4th Conference of the Union in Cairo, capital of Egypt in 2003. There our colleague, late Vahan Hovhannisyan, was elected member of the World Executive Committee of that Organization.

Taking into consideration the abovementioned, as well as realizing the active youth’s role in the formation of the healthy public relations, highlighting the involvement of the youth in the public processes and the provision of its legislative bases, and the necessity of the international organization around this issue, those signing below announce on creating “Scouting Friends” Parliamentary Group.

The Group is open for those who want to become a member.
